Wood pellet price in India

What sets the price of wood pellets, how to compare quotes, and how to get today's delivered rate from OBERSTECH.

What decides the price of wood pellets

  1. Pellet type. Hardwood pellets, the industry standard, cost less per tonne. Premium pine pellets cost more for higher heat and very low ash.
  2. Quantity and contract. Regular monthly orders get better rates than one-off purchases.
  3. Packaging. Bulk delivery is cheaper than bagged pellets; bags are easier to store and handle.
  4. Delivery distance. Freight is a large part of the delivered price, so the rate depends on your city.
  5. Raw material season. Sawdust and wood residue supply changes through the year, and prices follow.

Compare price per unit of heat, not per tonne

Compare the cost per unit of heat, not just the price per tonne. Divide the delivered price by the calorific value to get the cost per 1,000 kcal. We can help you pick the pellet that suits your boiler and budget.
